How to Remove Scuffs From Patent Leather Shoes

Black patent leather pumps are a fashion essential. Bright and fun colored patent leather pumps and peep-toe sling backs are additional perks to add to your shoe collection. A big scuff mark can ruin the appearance of the shoes, however. Though they may seem impossible to remove without damaging the patent leather, it can be done.

Things You'll Need

  • Cotton balls or cotton swabs
  • Non-acetone nail polish remover
  • Cloth or rag with one end damp with water one end dry

Instructions

    • 1
Saturate a cotton ball or cotton swab with non-acetone nail polish remover.
    • 2
Apply the remover to the scuff, and rub until the scuff disappears. Be careful not to let the nail polish remover sit on the surface of the shoes for an extended period of time, this will risk compromising the patent leather.
    • 3
When scuff is removed, wipe clean with a the damp half of the cloth and dry with a dry side.
